Ohio State’s marching band is a damn national treasure, and they’ve shown why yet again with their halftime performance against Michigan State.
The band reenacted a rocket launching, a moonwalking astronaut and a space module touching down on the moon. This is one of the most impressive performances we’ve seen in awhile, and that’s really saying something.
They mixed the performance with music from famous space movies like Apollo 13, The Right Stuff and First Man while the announcer added context to the scenes.
Oh yeah, and in case you didn’t know, Ohio has a strong history with astronauts. Neil Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta and John Glenn was born in Cambridge and graduated from Ohio State. Shout out to Ohio.
