It’s time to take your throwback game to a whole new level. T-Pain has been announced as OUAB’s Big Spring Concert headliner.
First, let me say this:
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Second, let me say this: T-Pain is an unquestionable giant of hip-hop and R&B of the late 2000s and early 2010s, and his sound has (directly or indirectly) informed a lot of popular music today. If you are groaning about T-Pain because he hasn’t released a lot of popular music lately, fell off sometime between 2008 and 2010, etc. I strongly urge you to revisit his music. Sure, you might have been 12 years old listening to I’m In Love with a Stripper the first time thinking you were being bad, but his hits have aged pretty damn well.
(Here’s my personal endorsement: I got to see T-Pain at a relatively small venue in 2017. He kicked ass.)
The concert will be on Friday, April 3 at the Schottenstein Center, and tickets are available both at the DTix desk and online, until they sell out.
