I know it’s summer and that means Fling SZN is in full effect, but if you’re trying to turn a fling into something serious for when autumn rolls around or show your boo that you’re still in love with them, a good date goes a long way. Sure, you could just meet up at the Union Market and get food, or you could explore the city a little more. A recent crush submission yielded some pretty good date suggestions that might be worthwhile in taking your dating game to the next level.
So let’s get into it:
First things first, the top response in this thread is FULL of date ideas. Like, more date ideas than you might ever actually use.
Some notable ones from here: COSI (get tickets at the DTix desk), The Book Loft (hail Malamarkus!), or any number of classes. Couples that learn together stay together!
And then, the next response in the thread is a little less… romantic.
Ah, Bulls. Because who doesn’t love getting grinded on a crowded dance floor while you’re out on a date! We don’t judge over here, so if that’s your thing, then that’s your thing. Bonus points if you convince your date that it’s a super fancy surprise. Both of you get dressed to the nines, and then go get plastered at Bulls.
Every midwesterners first love is Olive Garden. A quick Google search reveals that all of the nearby restaurants are outside of the 270 loop, but most are located around metro areas to make your night fun. My personal suggestion is to get to the Grove City location, and spend the rest of your night aimlessly wandering around Target, Hobby Lobby and T.J. Maxx!
Perhaps the actual most useful suggestion in this thread. The art museum is actually called the Pizzuti Collection of the Columbus Museum of Art, and students do get in free! I’ve been here, and I’m not exactly an art critic, but this gallery does a great job making fun exhibits for everyone. Some of the things I’ve done here: Created a lego building, drew and colored a superhero, cut a snowflake, created a superhero mask, and designed a Star Wars-themed collectible toy sign!
The Park of Roses aka the Franklin Park Conservatory is fantastic. Outside is full of picture-worthy spots that’ll be sure to get your likes on instagram in the triple digits. And what makes someone want to go on more dates than someone who takes great pictures?! No kidding though, the Conservatory is enormous and has rooms upon rooms of flowers and plants, a room dedicated to butterflies, a couple outdoor park attractions and lots of other great stuff. You’ll need to go here a couple times to get the full experience. And that brings us to our final suggestion…
If you’re not from Columbus, you might not know about Sirens, but it’s the city’s PREMIER adult entertainment club! Can you think of anything more romantic than watching a potential boo get a lap dance and throw ones for a few hours? I certainly can’t.
