Ohio State Professor Wins $100K Award; Here Are Some Other Award-Winning Professors You Might Know

Let’s face it: there are some people that are just bad at teaching. Every student that’s been at Ohio State for some amount of time has probably had a number of them, and I imagine their bad teaching habits have affected your school life/success in some way.

But on the other side of the coin, there are those professors that go above and beyond for what they do. They are the best of the best, whether it be in lecturing, ensuring students receive the resources they need, or being flat-out geniuses that are among the highest qualified people around.

The Ohio State Department of Physics’ very own Christopher Hirata recently won Break Through Prize‘s New Horizon Physics award. This award, netting Hirata a whopping $100,000, was earned through his “fundamental contributions to understanding the physics of early galaxy formation and to sharpening and applying the most powerful tools of precision cosmology,” according to the Break Through Prize website.

To put it in simpler terms, Chris is smart. He’s talented. And he’s incredibly qualified to be teaching at OSU.
