Weekly record: 0-1
Season record: 12-5
After starting the season 12-1 through the end of January, the men’s squad finds itself amid a 4-game slide with their most recent loss coming to No. 19 Maryland.
Against the Terrapins on Friday, the Bucks were held under 40 percent shooting for the game and were outrebounded 33-26. Maryland, on the other hand, shot over 58 percent from the field, which might explain the 75-61 final score from Jan. 18. C.J. Jackson had an impressive night with 15 points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists, while Kaleb Wesson was held relatively quiet by his standards with just 11 points and six rebounds. Duane Washington, Jr. contributed 14 points and six boards of his own, but it proved not to be enough against the Terrapins.
The team’s next game is Wednesday, Jan. 23 vs. Penn State.

While the men’s squad seems to be struggling, the women’s team seems to be finding its footing as it secured two wins this week against conference opponents.
On Monday, the Bucks took on Michigan State and downed the Spartans 65-55. Carly Santoro showed up and showed out with 25 points along with four rebounds and four steals to lead the Buckeyes to victory. Makayla Waterman paced the squad with 10 rebounds and the Buckeyes held Michigan State to just 30.8 percent shooting on the game.
On Thursday, Penn State put up a hell of a fight, but ultimately, Ohio State came out on top 76-71 in overtime. At one point in the game, the Buckeyes were down 64-45. 63 to 45! And they came back to win it 75-71.
Three Buckeyes scored in double digits (Dorka Juhasz, Makayla Waterman and Janai Crooms), but Crooms really ran the show with 27 points, eight rebounds, three steals and three assists in 40 minutes. Carmen Grande added eight points and 12 rebounds, and Dorka Juhasz returned to double-double form with 19 points and 11 rebounds.
Against Michigan on Sunday, though, the Buckeyes were finally stopped, as the Wolverines secured a 62-58 victory. Carly Santoro led the squad with 16 points while Janai Crooms put up 11 and Dorka Juhasz added 10 points and seven rebounds.
