TJ NeerOhio State made some major news today by announcing Kerry Coombs would be joining the Ohio State football coaching staff.
Coombs had been taking down giants in the NFL as the defensive backs coach for the Tennessee Titans for two seasons, but before that was the defensive backs coach at Ohio State.
Coombs is joining Ryan Day’s staff as defensive coordinator, and will be the highest paid assistant coach on the Buckeyes’ staff. Coombs saw great success as defensive backs coach at Ohio State, which is what opened up opportunities for him in the NFL, so there’s reason for fans to be optimistic about the upcoming season despite the departure of Jeff Hafley.
