Anyone whose had a meal plan in the last few semesters knows about the glory of Scott Commons: the endless breakfast, made-to-order omelettes and mongolian grill are the reasons Scott Commons was voted campus’ best dining hall this year. However, what if you’ve got a hangover? Well, throw on a hat and some sunglasses to shield yourself from the sun and swipe in to Scott Commons, because their options have tons of utility in fighting those hangovers.
1) Pancake tacos
Use the always-ready silver dollar pancakes in the breakfast section of Scott as a taco shell, and fill it to the brim with eggs, bacon, sausage and more. Sure, the greasy bacon and sausage probably aren’t great for curing that hangover, but they’re totally cancelled out by that pancake. It’s just science. Don’t forget to drizzle the whole thing in syrup and wash your hands before you leave Scott to return to your dorm and skip the rest of your classes. These are a huge hassle to try to make yourself, but since it’s a buffet and they’re already made, you should definitely go for it.
2) Chicken noodle soup saves the day
This remedy works. I don’t know when I stopped eating/drinking soup, but I am mad at whoever stopped offering me soup. Soup is good for your soul, and thus, it is good for curing headaches, nausea, and all the other annoyances of hangovers. Please don’t spill your bowl while looking for a place to sit, and sip slowly so you don’t burn yourself in your clumsiness. Then return for a few more bowls (and some garlic bread).
3) When in doubt, bananas are your friend
Increased potassium (which is found in bananas!) can help you deal with those feelings of weakness the day after a night of heavy drinking. Grab a knife and chop up some bananas to throw into your bowl of Frosted Flakes and you’re golden. Hangover will be cured in no time. (Probably not, but, you know. It should help you feel a little better. Just stay away from oranges.)
