Not long after the announcement of Good Night John Boy and Abercrombie & Fitch planning to open up shop at Gateway comes the news of three more spots hitting the area. Of the three will be the Greek restaurant, Elia Athenian Grill; an appeal store specializing in brands like Nike and Adidas, City Gear; and a new coffeeshop with roots in Hilliard, Ohio, Coffee Connections, according to a press release from Gateway.
According to a graphic provided by Gateway, City Gear will occupy the space on 1624 N. High St. next door to TRISM while the Abercrombie and Fitch, soon to be located on 1614 N. High St., will also be neighboring City Gear. Additionally, Elia Athenian Grill will also be in the area as it will reside on 14 E. 11 Ave.
While Abercrombie is slated for an August 2018 opening date, Elia will be opening in September of 2018 and City Gear has yet to set an opening month, but plans to be open by this fall.
Moving into the area between Eleventh and Ninth avenues are Good Night John Boy and Coffee Connections. While Good Night John Boy will serve as one of the few bars in the area and occupy the space directly across the walkway from the former Mad Mex, 1576 N. High St., Coffee Connections will be serving up caffeine-fueled drinks on 1572 N. High St.
Both Good Night John Boy and Coffee Connections plan to open this fall.
Though there has been five new opening announcements in the last week, the space in Mad Mex as well as Ugly Tuna are still vacant.
