I come to you readers on this fine evening to let you know that a campus favorite—Buffalo Wild Wings—has said something questionable via Twitter. And it’s both Ohio State and Columbus related. Check it out:
The first time I read this I was like “what?” and now I’m like “…what???” I honestly have no clue how to even interpret this properly. However, that won’t stop me from coming back at Buffalo Wild Wings.
For anyone who doesn’t know, the Buffalo Wild Wings at Ohio State is situated at the corner of Lane and High. It’s one of the most visible and busiest restaurants on campus, and no one can complain about their wing specials every Tuesday and Thursday. Now, let’s get into a little history.
As was aptly pointed out by a horde of Twitter users, Buffalo Wild Wings was actually formed in Columbus:
And that just makes this even more confusing. So… the Buffalo Wild Wings official verified Twitter account gave a backhanded compliment to the city of Columbus that tied in both the Blue Jackets and Urban Meyer. The same Buffalo Wild Wings that found its home in Columbus and might be expected to have a bit more fandom associated with Columbus. Confusing, huh?
People on Twitter were not hesitant to go after the wing joint, though:
I think the real lesson to be learned here is this: If you’re handed the keys to a corporate Twitter account, maybe don’t insult your hometown. Just a suggestion.
