Deals On Meals

Cheap eats for every night of the week.

When choking down another  meal from Traditions sounds like the last thing you want, and payday isn’t coming anytime soon, you have to get creative when it comes to eating out. Of course, it’s always an option to play the “I forgot my wallet at home, I’ll get you next time” card, but your friends will catch on to that quickly and then you are stuck eating at Traditions alone.

Don’t become the outcasted mooch of your friend group. It’s no fun when you are eating “chicken parmesan” from the dining hall while everyone else is scarfing down skillet fried artisan mac’n’cheese. There’s food deals going down every day near campus, and I’m here to show you one for each day of the week. Tell your bank account I said you’re welcome.

Avoiding the Sunday Scaries? Sounds like you need a big greasy burger, and maybe another beer. Get both at Bodega on Sundays for only $10 with their Big Mic burger and beer special running from 4 p.m. to close. And if you’re lucky, you might just pull away with a victory at trivia night which kicks off at 8 p.m.

Is it cheating to use Two Bucks on this list even though it’s basically happy hour there 24/7? Perhaps. But that doesn’t make their $1 off wings special any less enticing to a broke boy or girl in need. Throw in a trivia night complete with $1 off local beers and $2.50 bombs and your Monday will start to feel more like a Friday.

Tuesdays have unofficially been deemed Taco Tuesday in our city, and our local restaurants are more than on board. Local Cantina has become a personal favorite and their $2 tacos make for an excellent way to spend an evening.

If you’re in the mood for an inexpensive meal to celebrate Hump Day, we think Brazenhead on Fifth Avenue is a perfect spot. Stop in between 4 P.M. and 9 P.M. for $4 burgers; we promise the weekend is almost here.

Thirsty Thursdays were meant for drinking, but you’ll be sorely mistaken if you don’t throw some food into the mix. Ethyl and Tank is your one stop shop for this. Start out your night with $5 Tank nachos and make your way into their beer specials which run 25% off 6 oz. beers as well as 30 oz. pitchers.

Location: 19 E. 13th Ave.

You made it. Friday. Payday. And a brief reprieve from the supervisors and coworkers who breath down your neck. If you’re wanting to grab drink deals to kickstart your night, Salsa Night at Cazuela’s Mexican Grill gets the festivities rolling around 9 p.m. Beyond jumbo lime flavored margs for $5.99 and flavored margs at $6.99, you’ll be digging into half off appetizers. Is it irresponsible to blow through an entire paycheck on chips and queso?

Sleeping in this morning? We don’t blame you, that’s why we suggest you check out brunch at Pint House from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sure, you got us, there isn’t exactly any discount specials here, but the prices are already pretty cheap. Looking for a savory way to fight off that hangover? The short rib hash is only $10. Need to satisfy that sweet tooth? Nothing a fat stack of house made buttermilk pancakes can’t fix.
