Buckeye Food Alliance, a student organization founded in April 2014 by five roommates, will be opening a food pantry for Ohio State students on March 30.
“Two years later, after much research and work to establish a budding partnership with the university, we opened the doors to our very own food pantry March 30, 2016 on OSU’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio,” their website says.
The group also posted on Reddit with more information:
The pantry, located in room 150 of Lincoln Tower, will be open from Sunday 5-8 p.m. and Tuesdays and Wednesdays 6-9 p.m.
In order to make sure the food donated goes to students in need, those who have meal plans meant to last an entire semester (Unlimited and Scarlet 14) will not qualify to access the food pantry.
If you’d like to donate, the Student Wellness Center will be a drop-off location for food and Buckeye Food Alliance is offering to pick up donated food, as well. The group also accepts monetary donations on their website, buckeyefoodalliance.org.
Buckeyes helping Buckeyes, we love it!
