Bench Outside Blankenship Hall Honors Late OSU Police Officer

In 1997, Officer Michael Blankenship was killed in the line of duty. And now, we have a bench dedicated to his memory.

The ceremony was attended by many current Ohio State officers as well as OSU Chief of Police Kimberly Spears-McNatt.

From Ohio State News:

Officer Michael Blankenship was killed Feb. 10, 1997, while responding to a suspicious person call at the Wexner Center for the Arts. The shooter committed suicide days later.

A dedication ceremony Friday afternoon was part of National Police Week. In addition to recognizing Blankenship’s sacrifice, the ceremony also honored all officers killed in the line of duty.
