If you don’t know that Mirror Lake has gone through some major renovations then you MUST be a freshman. The lake has a dark history with the once-fun-turned-dangerous Mirror Lake Jump which kick- started the renovations. The new and improved lake no longer allows for the annual pre-TTUN game tradition to happen since they drain the lake every winter. The iconic campus staple has expanded to be larger and has much more greenery around it. Now, the lake can be one of the most picturesque date spots on campus and TBH there aren’t many. It’s definitely prettier than it used to be, so we aren’t mad about this renovation.
Mirror Lake Eatery
Legend has it that former Mirror Lake “Creamery” was the place to get the best milkshakes on campus. Unfortunately, the new Mirror Lake “Eatery” has not lived up to its former glory with decent milkshakes and chicken tenders. The plus side is that the new Mirror Lake Eatery has been updated with state-of-the-art kiosks and soft drink fountains. The saddest part of the renovation is the removal of the huge stone ice cream cone statue that sat outside the storefront. Now, all that’s left is emptiness not only outside the Eatery, but also in our hearts. RIP ice cream cone made of stone.
