31 Days Of Music: May, Week 1

Now that all that bull shit of school and homework and exams are finally done and out of the way, we finally have some free time to hit up some concerts going down in town. Here’s who is coming through this the city the first week of May!

Parkway Drive @ Newport Music Hall

You’re all done with finals, let off some steam with some hardcore metal that’s even tougher than that Physics exam.

Sarah Shook & The Disarmers @ Ace of Cups

Outlaw country band will rock your Hump Day and probably sip whiskey with you after the show if you ask nicely.

Restless Mules @ Rambling House

These bluegrass pickers host a weekly Thursday night at the area’s coolest little saloon, the perfect way to get warmed up for the weekend.

Steel Panther @ Express Live

Glammed-out hair metal rockers will transport you back to the heyday of the 80s, will also probably do all your drugs and fuck your sister.

The Brevet @ Rumba Cafe

Somehow The Brevet sounds like every single band on Modern Alternative radio all rolled into one act but with a worse name than any of them. They’ll be millionaires soon.

We Were Sharks @ Donato’s Basement

Cheesy pop-punk, we imagine they sounded cooler when they were sharks.

Monday (May 7)

Justin Timberlake @ Nationwide Arena

We all saw him be mediocre at the Super Bowl, but something tells us his highly-anticipated headlining tour will be a much more enthralling affair.
