Every year, NFL Network takes a poll of NFL players and has them vote on the very best players in the league. And, since Ohio State has quite a few players in the league, some of the players land in the top 100. So far, players 100-21 have been revealed, and Ohio State has 2 players on the list.
88 – Cameron Heyward, DE Pittsburgh – Heyward is getting up there in terms of NFL service time (he’s entering his 9th season in the league) but he’s still making an impact and other players are noticing. He earned the No. 88 spot on the list, sandwiched between Devin McCourty at 89 and Cam Newton at 87.
56 – Joey Bosa, DE Los Angeles Chargers – While it’s still weird to type ‘Los Angeles Chargers’ as opposed to San Diego, the weirdness doesn’t seem to be affecting Bosa. Bosa has pretty much been a menace since entering the league. Despite playing only 7 games last season due to injury, he was still ranked 56th overall, right between Minnesota’s Danielle Hunter (57) and Miami’s Xavien Howard (55).
13 – Michael Thomas, WR New Orleans Saints – Michael Thomas recently signed the largest contract for a wide receiver in NFL history. So yeah, he’s pretty good. Since entering the league in 2016, Thomas has had at least 90 receptions and 1100 yards each season. He led the NFL in receptions with 125 last season, pulled in 9 touchdowns and was both an all-star and made the NFL first team all-pro. He’s situated between JJ Watt at 12 and teammate Alvin Kamara at 14. ALSO: Thomas moved up from being ranked 81st last season.
