Ohio State, recent winners of the Big Ten after a 45-24 win over the No. 21 Northwestern Wildcats, didn’t make the final cut to get into the 2018 College Football Playoff. Instead, the Buckeyes will travel to Pasadena, California to take on No. 9 Washington in the Rose Bowl. The game will take place on New Year’s Day.
The Rose Bowl is a familiar venue for Ohio State, as before the CFP came around, Ohio State had appeared in the prestigious game 14 times. This will be the first time Ohio State faces off against Washington in the Rose Bowl, though.
As for the history between the Buckeyes and the Huskies, Ohio State leads the all-time series 8-3. The teams faced off against each other for the first time in 1957 and most recently in 2007. Ohio State has not lost to Washingon since 1994 and is currently on a three-game winning streak (1995, 2003, 2007).
