Yesterday, a poll went up on our Twitter with a simple prompt: do pineapples belong on pizza?

Pineapples, the tropical fruit that grow in warmer climates, are uber popular for summer time because of their utility in fruit salads, smoothies, drinks and, if you’re into it, pizza. However, the voters have decided that pineapples are not a good pizza topping, and this rule cannot be changed. From this day on, pineapples are not an acceptable pizza topping.
(Of course, we can’t actually stop you from putting pineapples on pizza, but we can give you our hot takes.)
TJ Neer, online editor: I’m not a fan of pineapples on pizza, mostly because I prefer my pineapples cold when I eat them, but I do not think that we should limit ourselves on what toppings go on pizza. As the great Evelyn Beatrice Hall once said, “I may not agree with your pizza toppings, but I will defend to the death your right to get them.”
Wyatt Crosher, writer: I have no hot takes sadly, very indifferent to pineapple on pizza. I eat it if it’s there but wouldn’t get it myself.
