The No. 1 seeded team in The Basketball Tournament, Scarlet & Gray, took down Matadors 82-73 at The Capital Center to advance to the next round of the tourney.
The team is made up of Buckeye alum, including Aaron Craft, David Lighty, Jon Diebler and Jared Sullinger, who was a fringe NBA candidate as recently as last season. As someone might predict, Sullinger dominated the game with 28 points and 19 rebounds. This is pretty much the most predictable thing ever, even considering the high talent level of players throughout the tournament, as Sully (the name he donned on his jersey) is very recently removed from NBA action.

However, if you want to keep going into this time machine to 2012, you can be glad that Craft and Diebler both dropped 12 points, while the Scarlet & Grey used a sizable rebound advantage (39-24) to help come back from a halftime deficit and win the game against the Texas Tech alum-filled Matadors.

For those interested in watching the Buckeye alum continue their run through the tournament, the Super 16 will take on Primetime Players in Atlanta July 27 at 9 p.m. ET. While it’s not as close as driving to Bexley (which is where the game vs. Matadors took place), it’s still bound to be a fun event as Primetime Players earned the 12 seed for a reason. Plus, who doesn’t want to watch Aaron Craft and Jared Sullinger throw down for a few more games? If you’re looking to watch, you can catch it on ESPN.
