Love her or hate her, she’s coming to Ohio Stadium July 7, 2018.
T-Swift is definitely trying to change her reputation with her new album. She is finally shedding her goody-two-shoes image or at least trying to. 15 songs about love, her haters, and every other person who has wronged her. The album’s music is conceptually different from any other album she has released, but the lyrics are mostly still about being bitter about this or that.
Many fans freaked out when her song “Dress” talks about buying the piece of clothing just so “he can take it off.” For any other artist this would not be so scandalous and actually pretty normal, but for Taylor Swift, this is extremely sexual. What happened to the teardrops on her guitar?!
Swifties are calling this new version of Taylor a “badass” and “mature” but really all she is doing is finally catching up with her age and writing about the situation that women in their late-20s are going through.
But all of that does not change the fact this could arguably be her worst album to date. Even if you weren’t a fan of Taylor herself, you still got down to “Shake it Off” and “Love Story,” but this album releases songs that only a die-hard fan could love. Hate all you want, the “I’m Too Sexy” melody should’ve just stayed in the ’90s.
It’s safe to say Taylor Swift is a polarized artist—you either love her or hate her. I guess if nothing else, Swifties are extremely loyal fan and I respect that. And this is coming from someone who will love the Cleveland Browns no matter how bad they are.
