Come hang out with the Syrian Student Union at Hagerty Hall and enjoy some delicious treats!
The Syrian Student Union at Ohio State is hosting a dessert sale at Hagerty Hall on Thursday at 10 a.m. Along with the bake sale occurring at Hagerty Hall in the morning, the student lead group will be touching on political topics regarding the current political climate in Syria at 335 Campbell Hall at 5:30 p.m.
The bake sale will feature traditional Syrian options like baklava, a light and flaky pastry made with filo dough, nuts, and honey or syrup; qatayef, a semi-sweet dumpling typically filled with a cream or nuts; harissa, a sweet cake typically made with coconuts or pistachios and nuts; and ghraybeh, similar to a shortbread cookie.
The prices for the baked goods will range from 75 cents to $1.50 apiece. A portion of the profits will be donated to Syrian refugees.
