Summer Weekend Trips

  1. Yellow Springs, Ohio
    • Make like a hippie and visit the granola town of Ohio. Yellow Springs is a happy little town less than an hour away from campus. It reeks of patchouli, incense, and other burning herbs, stocked with all of your tree-hugging needs. And, if you’re lucky, you might run into the famous local Dave Chappelle. Whatever you do, don’t yell “Rick James Bitch” at him.
  2. Red River Gorge, Kentucky
    • This is a bit of a longer trek, around four hours, but it is worth the trip. Red River Gorge is a hiker’s delight, with mountains, natural bridges, and gorgeous forests. Pitch a tent, start a fire and crack open some moonshine!
  3. Sandusky, Ohio
    • Cedar Point opens the same weekend as graduation. Coincidence? We think not. Climb into a car with a group of your most adventurous friends for a weekend of Top Thrills. BTW, the pizza joints surrounding Cedar Point are worth the two and a half hour drive on their own.
  4. Chicago, Illinois
    • If you’re looking for a city trip, head over to the Windy City. Even if you’ve been there a million times, there are always new restaurants, bars, and shops to explore. Don’t forget to take a mandatory picture by the Bean, or else you didn’t really go.
  5. Oval Beach
    • If you’re stranded on campus and need a getaway, go on a staycation. Whip up a tropical drink, throw down a blanket and enjoy the view of dogs, frisbees, and frat guys.
