After starting all 21 games for the Buckeye’s women soccer squad as a freshman and finishing the season ranked 4th on the team in assists, the Canton, Michigan native, Izzy Rodriguez, was named to the 18-person USA U-20 national team. Throughout the season, Rodriguez proved to be vital to helping the Bucks secure wins over Illinois where she totaled two assists on the game and against Michigan State where she made the game winning assist to seal the deal against the Spartans.
She is set to take on Sweden, England, and Italy in La Manga, Spain for the La Manga Friendlies April 5 through April 9, but before she can hop on a plane and help assist the USA U-20 national team to glory, we caught up with her on this week’s installment of “Sidelines.”

One campus joint I eat at the most is the Union. Most of the time I get a chicken quesadilla and make my own salad at the salad bar to go with it. It is the place I enjoy most because there are so many different options to get.

What’s on your guilty pleasure music playlist?
I am a big country music fan. I think my guilty pleasure playlist would have to be the Windows Down Country playlist on Spotify. Country music is my go-to music when I’m doing homework, during long car rides and when I’m just hanging out.
