Four students living on 12th street just off of Indianola decided to take the load off of summer classes with an impromptu trip to Florida fully funded by their family members. Unfortunately, the group forgot they were leaving one big part of their lives behind: Red, White and Boom! in Columbus Ohio.
The mix of loud sounds, bright visuals, sweat, and angry drunk people is far greater on the streets of downtown Columbus than they are inside of Bullwinkles and the girls reported feeling “serious fomo” as a result of it.
To remedy such pain, however, one girl, Heather Jones came up with a solution.
“Every year for the fireworks, I have this cute tradition where I take a video for the show to post on my Insta,” Jones said. “That way I can always remember what fireworks look like. Videos last forever!”
So when the roommates realized they may miss the explosion of the year (aside from the time Brenda accidentally dropped Jamie’s loofah on the ground) , Heather had the perfect solution.
“We’re all just going to get super shwasted and watch old insta videos!” Jones said. “That way we can truly feel like we’re there and know relatively what our fellow sisters in Columbus are feeling.”
