Coming on Sunday, World of Beer in the gateway will be closing. The close will not be like other recent closings in the gateway, though—the beer-heavy bar will reopen on Aug. 16 as The District PourHouse, according to The Lantern.
Fans of the wide selection of beer available at WOB need not worry, though. The new location will still feature 50+ brews and will also add biscuit bowls and a hot dog stand to help you with those hangovers, as well as burgers.
One major change that college students can be excited about is that the co-owner of the bar and restaurant highlighted the affordability of the new menu. From The Lantern:
Highlighting the affordability of its menu, The District PourHouse will feature “nationally known retro brands” like Busch Light, Natural Light, Rolling Rock, Pabst Blue Ribbon and many more, the release said. It also will offer more than 50 draft beers available on tap, as well as several classic and new cocktails, the release added.
In addition to the wide selection of beer and new food options, there will be a retro gaming lounge for those interested. For anyone feeling nostalgic, the lounge will feature Ms. Pac-Man, Atari, Foosball, but you can also use televisions in the area to play newer selections like Mario Kart.
And, if you’re just worried about your trivia nights, have no fear: they’re not going anywhere. In addition to the return of those, The District PourHouse will be having “Open Vinyl” nights where patrons can sign up to play their own records for 15 minutes, but there’s no word on when those will be taking place.
