The Buckeyes extended their undefeated streak to start the season to six with wins over Samford and Cleveland State, the latter of which was played in St. John Arena. The team entered the week ranked No. 23, and will likely jump up a few spots when the next rankings come out.
Against Samford, the Buckeyes won 68-50, led by Kaleb Wesson who dropped 19 in 31 minutes to go along with 5 rebounds. C.J. Jackson was exceptionally active on the glass as he tallied 9 rebounds, and grad-transfer Keyshawn Woods proved to be extremely valuable in plenty of sets as he put up 4 assists in his 37 minutes on the floor.
Against Cleveland State, the Buckeyes were on fire, but perhaps even more fire was the team’s jersey choice:

Just look at those. I’m in love.
Anyways, back to the recap: Kaleb Wesson once again led the Buckeyes with 19 points and was trailed closely by C.J. Jackson who had 17. Jaedon LeDee grabbed 8 rebounds to lead the team and each of Wesson, Jackson and Duane Washington, Jr. had three assists to lead the team. Altogether, it was a great night offensively for the team as they put up 89 (51 of which came in the second half) points while holding Cleveland State to only 62.
The team’s next game is Wednesday, Nov. 28 at home against Syracuse.

The women’s team had this week off, and both of last week’s games were cancelled, so they should be well rested for their upcoming matchups against the likes of North Carolina and Cincinnati.
The team’s next game is Thursday, Nov. 29 at home against North Carolina.
