All the good political slogans have been taken thanks to Detroit-bred rapper turned country musician, Robert Richie, AKA Kid Rock. Rock has created a site promoting his run for US Senate. The site is selling merch next to slogans that include “I’ll Rock the Party ” and “PIMP of the nation.” Rock would be running for the senate seat in home state of Michigan. Michigan has not had a Republican senator since 2001. Could Kid Rock break change this? Many U.S. political leaders were actors, wrestlers, terminators and reality TV hosts, so why not a rap-rocker?
Rock has not outlined an official platform, he has never shyed away from discussing his political preferences, “I am definitely a Republican on fiscal issues and the military, but I lean to the middle on social issues. I am no fan of abortion, but it’s not up to a man to tell a woman what to do. As an ordained minister, I don’t look forward to marrying gay people, but I’m not opposed to it…should legalize and tax everything: pot, cocaine, heroin. Has it not been proven that people will always find a way to get what they want?” In addition to dropping political rhetoric, he has endorsed several republican leaders, including taking this picture last April at the White House.
