Faces Of Campus: Celeste Simcox

Every week, we want to ask students about their taste in life. What are you listening to? What’s the worst fashion trend you’ve seen on campus? Where’s the best place to grab some grub when you’re tight on cash?

Albeit these questions are fun to answer and read, they also show more about the people around you at Ohio State. While you and your friend might be both Chemistry majors, your tastes in food could be two worlds apart. And that’s the beauty of asking these kinds of questions. Not only can you learn that you aren’t the only Chemistry major who has an obsession for drunkenly eating Apollo’s mozzarella sticks, you get to know a little bit more about a fellow student so the next time you’re in class with them you can say, “Wait, aren’t you the person who gets Apollo’s whenever you get drunk?”

For this week, we had International Studies major Celeste Simcox dish out where she loves to grab some food, the best hangover meal, and just how much she loves Diaspora.

What’s the one campus joint you eat at the most and what do you get? (Be honest)

I eat a lot of Pita Pit, it’s close to campus, the guys there always make my food quickly, it’s tasty, and pretty cheap!

What’s your favorite off-campus spot to put in a meal?

I really enjoy the AAB India Restaurant in Grandview.

If you could grab dinner with anyone, dead or alive, who would you pick and where would you take them?

I would go to dinner with former President Barack Obama and I would take him to Pier W, a lakeside restaurant in Cleveland, Ohio!

You’ve got 10 dollars left in the week and you need one good meal before payday. Where do you spend it?

Without a doubt Diaspora on High Street.

If someone was going to take you on a date, where would you hope they would take you?

I would want to go somewhere where it was not too loud or crowded; on campus the ideal place would be Diaspora.

Where’s the best place to stuff your face after a night of drinking?

Catfish Biff’s. Always.

What’s your go-to hangover meal?

Tomato juice and Hangover Easy’s Hoe Benny dish.

If you had to cook someone a meal, what would you prepare?

I would make them pasta carbonara, (sautéed onions, crispy bacon in olive oil, parmesan and pasta) or baked rosemary salmon, asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes.

What’s your guilty pleasure food?

Fresh mint chocolate chunk ice cream.

If you had to eat at one campus spot for an entire school year, where would you pick?

Diaspora.
