This weekend was full of great music from the CD 102.5 Alternative Station Summer Kick-Off event with artists including Electric Guest and Portugal. The Man and the Buckeye Country Superfest, which included artists Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert.
While the two concerts were not at all in competition with one another and this is not Battle of the Bands in any way whatsoever, there were pro’s and con’s of each concert that can and should be considered when deciding which won the non-event.
Pro’s: Many important artists in the country world, two days long of music, at Ohio Stadium which is dope, Surplus of students there makes it feel like a home game, an excuse to get drunk on both Saturday and Sunday midday, an excuse to wear cowboy boots and a cowboy hat, great insta posts.
Con’s: two days long of country music, Ohio Stadium is by default a super sweaty place, Too many college kids, hungover for work Monday which leads coworkers to suspect that you’re a country fan, an excuse to wear cowboy boots and a cowboy hat, having to listen to country music
CD 102.5 Summer Kick-Off
Pro’s: An excuse to get day drunk and night drunk of Saturday, surrounded by alty kids and adults who liked Portugal. The Man when they were hard rock, graphics that give you nightmares, super loud rock-style music, at Express Live which is a dope venue, sick insta posts to let people know you aren’t a fucking country music fan, real guitar music
Con’s: Surrounded by scary alty kids and weird adults who still act like alty kids, graphics were also scary, some of the performers beforehand were grown men wearing sparkly short-shorts, can’t hear out of left ear for several days, got kicked out of Express Live for trying to drink underaged.
