By The Numbers: Ohio State’s Record Setting Spring Commencement

For the fourth year in a row, Ohio State’s Spring Commencement broke the record of largest graduating class nearly 12,000 total students receiving a degree on Sunday. That’s a lot of sweaty people stuck underneath a cap and gown in the warm spring air at the Shoe.

Last year’s record was 11,047 total students receiving a degree and it was shattered by this year’s count at 11,907. Of that number, about 1 in every 5 graduate was a first generation graduate of their family.

Master’s: 2,722

Bachelor’s: 6,983
