It seems like only Very Important People have the chance to catch world premieres of movies. If you aren’t a hot shot movie reviewer or an actor in Hollywood, you probably aren’t getting a glimpse at a movie before the rest of the world can feast their eyes on it.
Well, that is until now. Ohio State has the chance to host the world premiere of “The Life of The Party” in May, but it’s going to take a collective effort of Buckeyes to make this happen.
If enough Buckeyes hop onto the Life Of The Party website and cast enough votes for the Buckeye faithful, Warner Brothers Pictures will have OSU host the world premiere of the movie on May 11. Voting is currently underway and will be live until April 5 at 11:59 p.m., and OSU is sitting in the second place spot behind Auburn University. But we are OSU, and coming in second place in anything isn’t something we are custom to.
“The Life Of The Party” is a comedy movie staring Melissa McCarthy, famous for her roles in “Bridesmaids,” Mike & Molly,” and the remake of “Ghostbusters,” and Gillian Jacobs, famous for her roles on “Community” and the Netflix original “Love.” In “The Life Of The Party,” McCarthy’s character, Deanna, is suddenly dumped by her husband forcing her to reevaluate where she is in her life when she decides she’s going to go back to college to brush up on her education. There’s a catch, though. She’s taking every class with her daughter. It’s kind of like the “Extremely Goofy Movie,” but with that brand of humor that has made McCarthy so popular.
If OSU is able to secure the premiere, we’ll have an update for you on April 6 when the results are released. Until then, hit up the Life Of The Party website to cast those votes!
